IOBHC2 – Media Accreditation Rules & Regulations

These Media Accreditation Rules & Regulations apply to all accredited media personnel covering the Inter Office Beach Handball Edition 2 (IOBHC2). Accreditation is a privilege granted by the Organizing Committee and is subject to compliance with these regulations. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including the suspension or revocation of media accreditation.

Venue Definitions

For the purpose of these regulations:

Playing Ground

The official sand playing area and its immediate perimeter designated for match operations.

Organization Tent Side (Referee Table Side)

The operational side of the venue where the referee table, scorekeepers, timekeepers, tournament officials, event management, and other authorized personnel are stationed. This is a restricted operational zone and may only be accessed by authorized personnel.

Restricted Areas

Any location designated by the Organizing Committee where public or unauthorized media access is prohibited.

1. Official Media

Official Media personnel are appointed by the Organizing Committee to serve as the official media team of IOBHC2.

Access Rights

Official Media personnel are granted unrestricted operational access throughout the tournament, including:

  • Full access to the playing ground at all times.
  • Access before, during, and after every match.
  • Access to all warm-ups.
  • Access to all team celebrations.
  • Access to Player of the Match (POTM) presentations.
  • Access to award ceremonies and official presentations.
  • Access to media zones, interview areas, and presentation areas.
  • Access to operational areas when required for tournament coverage.
  • Access to restricted areas when authorized by Event Management.

Official Media serves as the primary media team of the tournament.

Responsibilities

Official Media personnel shall:

  • Produce official tournament photography and videography.
  • Cover all matches and official tournament activities.
  • Coordinate media operations throughout the tournament.
  • Assist accredited media personnel where necessary.
  • Ensure media operations do not interfere with tournament activities.

Authority

Official Media acts on behalf of the Organizing Committee in matters relating to media operations. All media-related enquiries, access clarifications, and operational concerns shall be directed to Official Media or Event Management.

Restrictions

Although Official Media has extensive venue access, they must:

  • Follow instructions issued by Event Management.
  • Respect temporary operational or safety restrictions.
  • Avoid interfering with referees, officials, athletes, volunteers, and match operations.
  • Immediately comply with security or emergency instructions.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to temporarily restrict access to any area for operational or safety reasons.

2. Club Media

Club Media accreditation is issued exclusively to media representatives officially assigned to a participating club.

Ground Access

Club Media may enter the playing ground only during activities involving their own club, including:

  • Pre-match warm-up.
  • Team introductions.
  • Their club's match.
  • Immediately after the match.
  • Team celebration photographs.
  • Player of the Match (POTM) photographs.
  • Official team photographs.

Once post-match media duties have concluded, Club Media must immediately leave the playing ground.

Ground Restrictions

Club Media are strictly prohibited from entering the playing ground:

  • During matches not involving their club.
  • During another club's warm-up.
  • During another club's celebrations.
  • During award ceremonies unless specifically instructed.
  • At any time outside their allocated access period.

Restricted Areas

Club Media are not permitted to enter or remain in:

  • The Organization Tent Side (Referee Table Side).
  • Official Media working areas.
  • Referee and Technical Officials' areas.
  • Tournament Operations areas.
  • Medical areas.
  • Any location designated as Restricted Access.

Conduct

Club Media personnel must:

  • Display accreditation visibly at all times.
  • Follow instructions from Event Officials and Official Media immediately.
  • Avoid obstructing players, referees, officials, photographers, or spectators.
  • Conduct themselves professionally throughout the event.
  • Remain outside the field of play unless actively covering their own club.

Equipment

Media equipment must not obstruct:

  • Match officials.
  • Players.
  • Spectator viewing.
  • Emergency access routes.
  • Other accredited media personnel.

Large equipment, including tripods and lighting systems, may only be used with prior approval.

3. Media (Organization)

This accreditation category applies to media representatives from organizations, companies, agencies, publications, broadcasters, and independent media outlets covering the tournament.

Access Rights

Organization Media personnel may:

  • Access the playing ground throughout the tournament.
  • Cover all matches.
  • Cover warm-ups.
  • Cover Player of the Match (POTM) presentations.
  • Cover team celebrations.
  • Cover official ceremonies and tournament activities.

Operational Rules

Although Organization Media have access to the playing ground throughout the tournament, they must comply with the same operational conduct expected of Club Media. They shall:

  • Follow all instructions issued by Official Media and Event Management.
  • Respect all restricted operational areas.
  • Avoid interfering with tournament operations.
  • Keep unnecessary movement around the field to a minimum during live matches.
  • Maintain appropriate working distances from players and officials.

Restricted Areas

Organization Media are not permitted to enter:

  • The Organization Tent Side (Referee Table Side) unless specifically authorized by the Organizing Committee.
  • Referee and Technical Officials' areas.
  • Tournament Operations areas.
  • Medical treatment areas.
  • Any location designated as Restricted Access.

Conduct

Organization Media personnel must:

  • Wear accreditation visibly at all times.
  • Conduct themselves professionally.
  • Respect athletes, officials, volunteers, spectators, and fellow media personnel.
  • Avoid delaying or interrupting tournament operations.
  • Not enter the field of play during active gameplay unless operationally safe and permitted.

Coverage Ethics

Media personnel are expected to:

  • Respect player privacy where appropriate.
  • Maintain impartial and professional conduct.
  • Avoid unsporting behaviour.
  • Comply with tournament broadcasting, copyright, and media policies.

General Rules (Applicable to All Media Types)

Accreditation

  • Accreditation must be worn visibly at all times.
  • Accreditation is personal and non-transferable.
  • Lost accreditation must be reported immediately.
  • The Organizing Committee may request identification at any time.

Accreditation Pass Requirements

Each accredited media personnel is solely responsible for producing and carrying their own Media Accreditation Pass. The accreditation pass must meet the following requirements:

  • The official accreditation card shall be printed in full colour. Black-and-white prints will not be accepted.
  • The accreditation card must be printed in A6 size (105 mm x 148 mm).
  • The accreditation card must be laminated to ensure durability throughout the tournament.
  • The accreditation card must be worn around the neck using a lanyard and remain clearly visible at all times while inside the tournament venue.
  • The Organizing Committee will provide the official accreditation artwork only. Printing, laminating, and supplying a lanyard are the sole responsibility of the accredited media personnel or their respective organization/club.
  • The Organizing Committee shall not be responsible for printing, laminating, replacing, or providing accreditation cards or lanyards.
  • Accreditation passes must not be folded, altered, damaged, or transferred to another individual.
  • Event Officials, Security Personnel, Official Media, or the Organizing Committee may request inspection of the accreditation pass at any time.
Non-Compliance

Media personnel who fail to comply with the above accreditation requirements may:

  • Be denied entry to the tournament venue or accredited media areas.
  • Be refused access to the playing ground or restricted operational areas.
  • Have their media privileges suspended until the requirements are met.
  • Have their Media Accreditation Pass revoked for repeated non-compliance.

Professional Conduct

All accredited media personnel shall:

  • Treat athletes, officials, volunteers, spectators, and staff with respect.
  • Follow instructions issued by Event Management immediately.
  • Conduct themselves professionally at all times.
  • Avoid abusive, offensive, or disruptive behaviour.
  • Respect all venue restrictions.
  • Ensure their actions do not interfere with tournament operations.

Safety

Media personnel must never:

  • Enter restricted areas without authorization.
  • Obstruct emergency exits or access routes.
  • Create safety hazards using equipment.
  • Interfere with gameplay.
  • Distract players or match officials during competition.

Photography & Videography

Media personnel must:

  • Respect designated shooting positions.
  • Avoid blocking spectator views.
  • Keep equipment within allocated working areas.
  • Minimize unnecessary movement during live play.
  • Use equipment safely and responsibly.

The use of drones is strictly prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Organizing Committee.

Commercial Activity

Media accreditation does not permit:

  • Commercial sales.
  • Product promotion.
  • Advertising.
  • Sponsorship activations.
  • Distribution of promotional materials.

...unless prior written approval has been granted by the Organizing Committee.

Social Media

Accredited media personnel may publish tournament content on their respective platforms provided that:

  • Content accurately represents the tournament.
  • Content does not damage the reputation of the tournament, participants, officials, sponsors, or organizers.
  • Official tournament branding and sponsor obligations are respected where applicable.

Equipment & Liability

All media personnel are solely responsible for the equipment they bring into the tournament venue.

  • Cameras, lenses, drones (where authorized), tripods, monopods, lighting equipment, mobile devices, laptops, storage devices, and any other media equipment are brought into the venue entirely at the owner's risk.
  • The Organizing Committee, Event Management, officials, volunteers, venue operators, and tournament partners shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, malfunction, or destruction of media equipment or personal belongings.
  • Media personnel are responsible for ensuring that their equipment is used safely and does not obstruct players, officials, spectators, emergency routes, or tournament operations.
  • Any damage caused by a media personnel's equipment to tournament property, venue facilities, or another person's property may be the responsibility of the media personnel concerned.
  • Media personnel should exercise due care when operating within the playing ground and surrounding areas, particularly during live matches and adverse weather conditions.

Assumption of Risk

By accepting media accreditation and entering the tournament venue, all accredited media personnel acknowledge and accept that they do so at their own risk. The Organizing Committee accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury, accident, loss, theft, or damage to personal property or media equipment occurring before, during, or after the tournament, except where required by applicable law.

Camera & Recording Device Policy

To ensure proper accreditation control and efficient media operations, media equipment privileges are assigned according to the accreditation category issued by the Organizing Committee.

Photographer Accreditation

Holders of a Photographer Pass are permitted to carry and use:

  • Professional cameras.
  • DSLR cameras.
  • Mirrorless cameras.
  • Video cameras.
  • Camcorders.
  • Camera lenses and related photography equipment.
  • Other approved visual recording equipment required for media coverage.

All equipment must be operated safely and in accordance with these regulations.

Press Accreditation

Holders of a Press Pass are not permitted to carry or use:

  • Professional cameras.
  • DSLR cameras.
  • Mirrorless cameras.
  • Video cameras.
  • Camcorders.
  • Any other dedicated photography equipment.

Press Pass holders may carry and use:

  • Audio recording devices.
  • Voice recorders.
  • Interview microphones.
  • Mobile phones for photography, videography, audio recording, interviews, note-taking, and other journalistic purposes.

Mobile phones are not considered professional photography equipment for the purposes of these regulations.

Unauthorized Equipment

Any accredited media personnel found carrying or operating equipment beyond the permissions of their accreditation category may be instructed to:

  • Remove the equipment from the venue.
  • Cease using the equipment immediately.
  • Leave the playing ground or restricted areas.
  • Surrender their media privileges pending review.

Failure to comply with this policy may result in the immediate suspension or revocation of the Media Accreditation Pass and removal from the tournament venue.

Code of Conduct

All accredited media personnel are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discipline throughout the tournament.

By accepting media accreditation, all media personnel agree to comply with these Media Rules & Regulations and any instructions issued by the Organizing Committee, Event Management, Official Media, or Match Officials.

All media personnel must:

  • Wear their accreditation visibly at all times.
  • Follow instructions from tournament officials without delay.
  • Conduct themselves respectfully and professionally.
  • Respect all restricted and operational areas.
  • Maintain appropriate language and behaviour throughout the event.
  • Ensure their actions do not negatively affect the safety, image, or operations of the tournament.
  • Exercise good judgement and professionalism at all times while representing themselves and their organization.

Discipline and strict adherence to these regulations are mandatory throughout the duration of the tournament.

Disciplinary Action

Failure to comply with these Media Rules & Regulations, venue protocols, or instructions from authorized tournament personnel may result in disciplinary action.

Depending on the severity of the violation, the Organizing Committee may impose one or more of the following:

  • Verbal warning.
  • Formal written warning.
  • Immediate removal from the playing ground or restricted areas.
  • Temporary suspension of media privileges.
  • Immediate revocation of the official Media Accreditation Pass.
  • Removal from the tournament venue.
  • Disqualification from receiving media accreditation for future IOBHC events.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke any media accreditation without prior notice if the holder:

  • Enters restricted areas without authorization.
  • Fails to follow instructions from Event Officials or Official Media.
  • Behaves in a manner deemed unsafe, disruptive, disrespectful, or unprofessional.
  • Obstructs tournament operations or match officials.
  • Misuses their accreditation to gain unauthorized access.
  • Acts in a manner that brings the tournament, its participants, sponsors, organizers, or the sport into disrepute.
  • Repeatedly fails to comply with these regulations.

Final Authority

The interpretation and enforcement of these Media Accreditation Rules & Regulations rest solely with the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend these regulations at any time to ensure the safe, efficient, and professional operation of the tournament. All decisions regarding accreditation, venue access, operational matters, disciplinary action, and media privileges are final and binding. No appeal against decisions made by the Organizing Committee during the tournament shall be entertained.
